Important New Information!!
1. We are happy to be in the former Trees N Trends store again on Highway 96 in Franklin. We loved being there in February and our sales were fantastic. It's such a great location: convenient for consigning your items and right in the heart of Franklin's retail strip to sell your items. This will be a great time to sell ALL your items, both kids and adults!
2. The space is so large that we will be having both the children's and adult/home decor sales at the same time. You can drop off and pick up for both sales at the same time. Drop-off dates are exactly the same as the children’s drop-off. We want you to consign in both sales, but please do so wisely. If you only put one item in, you won't cover the fees, so bring at least $50 worth to make it worth your while. We do charge a participant’s fee for each sale, just as we've always done, but don't forget, there is an easy way to have your fee waived at the adult sale. Check the adult website for details.
3. Running simultaneous sales will be very convenient for drop-off and pick-up, but there will be an important addition to your tagging. All adult/home décor items must have the letter “A” at the end of the consignor number.
Example: kids item = 202, adult item = 202A
4. We are really excited about our new online tag form! You can now print your tags on your own computer, complete with your consignor number, price, and bar code already printed for you. All you have to do is fill in the description, size, and gender. (If you have the Adobe Professional program, you can type into the tag form also.) Please make use of this big time-saver. No more waiting in line for labels, no more emailing for them either! And it is the best way to guard against bar coding mistakes, no more misreading handwriting or mistyping numbers. You can check every bar code yourself. That's important because that's how you get paid!
You will need white 8-1/2" x 11" CARDSTOCK and fresh, dark ink to make the cards scannable. You can get paper packs at Michaels and Office Depot. You can also use the large paper cutter at Office Depot to quickly cut the cards into 3x5 pieces after you print them.
5. Another way we are trying to make drop-off go more quickly is for you to bring your non-hanging items in disposable containers such as cardboard boxes or large shopping bags. That will save time waiting for us to empty the containers and get them back to you. It will also help tremendously if you drop-off your shoes all together in one container, inspecting them will go quicker that way. (Remember, do not package shoes, books, movies, or CDs in plastic bags. They get separated from their price tag and/or bag so easily--then we cannot sell them nor give them back to the proper consignor. Please see the Tagging Page for the ideal way to package them.)
6. Presale will be on Friday night, July 18 at 5pm. Guests will come in at 8pm, New Moms will shop the next morning, July 19 at 9am and then we will open to the public at noon. There is a balance we try to keep for our consignors because we know there are 2 very important things you need from Encores:
1. A convenient time and place to shop before the public, getting everything your children need and saving money while doing it and,
2. Selling your consigned items and making top dollar on each one.
In this location, we know we would be missing a prime selling time by not being open to the public on a Saturday, yet you made it very clear by your numerous emails that a weekday was not a good option for the Presale! So we tried to do the Presale and opening day on the same day last time, and even though our Presale was probably the best, most efficient one we’ve had in many years, we were unprepared for the flood of shoppers that came later that afternoon! Our sales that day were very good, even with the long lines later in the day, but we’d like to have great sales again without the wait. So, we’re trying Presale on Friday night with our large work crew we had last time(over 50 workers that morning alone) and have that same number of workers again on Saturday for the public. Remember, word of mouth is our best advertisement, and that means YOU are our best advertisement. If you had friends who got caught in those lines, please tell them we’re sorry and that we hopefully have remedied the problem. You might even suggest they become workers and beat all the crowds because we’re going to need a lot of woman (or man) power!!
7. We will have a special shipment of New school uniforms at this sale! There will be hundreds of pieces, but the prices are excellent and they will go fast! If this is a big need for you, please consider being a worker this sale. You get to shop on Thursday afternoon, July 17th, and we really need you! There's lots of shifts to choose from and you can even send your husband or responsible teenager to work some of your shifts for you (three shifters get a $50 gift certificate too...) 8. Pick-up: We will again be sorting into numbers within each size. Your clothing items and shoes will be sorted into numbers within each individual size. When you apply for your consignor number online, you can print out a form that will enable you to keep track of which sizes you consign. Simply bring that form with you to pick-up and you can go straight to the sizes to see if you have any unsold items. We will check your items as you leave and that will complete the process. The adult/home decor items will be sorted the same way, within the sizes/tables in those areas.
A few tips: It will be very important to be sure you properly list the size and gender on your tags (for example: Girls 8, Boys 10, Maternity L, Jrs 15, etc. See the Tagging Info Page if needed). This will ensure your items are in the best place to be displayed for potential buyers and also ensure your item is in the correct place for you to pick up should it remain unsold.
